Marta Wrubl was born in Genoa in 1973. After the classical high school she graduated in painting with an academic diploma in 1997. Later in Florence she followed a three-year course for the restoration of books, drawings and prints at the Institute for Art and the Palazzo Spinelli Restoration and since 2000 is the owner of an individual company for the restoration of ancient books and paper documents. Since 2007 he has been a lecturer in Paper Technology at the Academy of Fine Arts in Genoa where with the students and in collaboration with the Carta Mele Museum he has started a laboratory for hand-making paper: in a virtuous circle, the students of technology produce paper of pure cotton for artists reserved for all students of the Academy. For years he has been conducting courses and workshops on book restoration, bookbinding and handmade paper decoration techniques. In addition to this, he obstinately continues to carry out his pictorial research on the figure and the portrait.
