Graphic Illustrator – Painter
Alex Raso, Graphic illustrator, lives and works in Savona (Italy). After studying at the Liceo Artistico and at the Ligustica Academy of Fine Arts (Genoa) he devoted himself to illustration and advertising graphics. In the illustration he uses mixed and experimental analog and digital techniques. The “Arsenic and old blades” series is made up of portraits made by distributing the color with a razor blade on waxed paper. The particular technique gives a particular effect to the works making them angular and essential thanks to the clear and necessary features. The consent obtained led the artist in 2011 to present the works of the first series in a solo show in Reykjavík (Iceland). “Raso” in Italian is the past participle of the verb “to shave”.
Selected at important Italian illustration festivals including Ink Festival (AL), PIC NIC Festival (RE), LIBRIMMAGINARI (VT). Selected for the Italian Poster Biennial; published in the Annual of the Italian Association of Image Authors of which he is a member.
He collaborates with various publishing houses including ArteBambini di Bologna with whom he publishes the illustrated book “Il Re dei Catti”.
